Hell’s Kitchen Reality Heaven

Posted on | July 23, 2009 | No Comments

hells-kitchen1 I’m not the biggest reality show fan, but have watched a few episodes of Hell’s Kitchen before and  have a general interest in cooking so I thought I’d give a season a try from the start.

I wish they wouldn’t censor all of the cussing in this show, people know Gordon Ramsay swears  and expect it when they watch his shows. It subtracts from the show when every second word is  cut out!

The contestants on the show were not very engaging, they just had no personality, most of them  spoke in monotone voices and sounded stupid as shit. America if they are your best to offer no  wonder you all just eat fast food!

Robert the huge guy who was welcomed back to compete again seriously needs to loose some  weight, he obviously needs to eat less of his own food. Hey man ever hear of portion control?

Our Lady Peace really burns!

olp

Burn Burn by Our Lady Peace is their 7th Studio Album.

With tracks destined for the breakup montages in cheesy teenage sitcoms everywhere I  couldn’t help but feel as though this album was lacking something. I am obviously not the  target demographic for this sort of music, but the lyrics felt weak.

The bass lines in the songs were great and so was the tone of the guitars.

At times the lead singer almost had a bono-esqe sound to his voice, but fell short of having  the vocal range to back up the fun paint by numbers rock.

This album would be great for a lazy hungover Sunday on the couch, but the songs all start  sounding the same after a while…

My recommendation put on some Dashboard Confessional instead!

Top Gear needs new Gear

Growing up I missed out on a few things and a boyish love for cars was one. Being the geeky type I was more comfortable talking about RAM and Gigabytes than MPH and Brake Horse Power. I still don’t have a license but have developed for this show a sence of appreciation, The challenges the jokes and the high budget of Top Gear makes it an entertaining show for people from all walks of life, not just car lovers.

Entourage S06E02 “Amongst Friends”

Entourage has been a TV show that I have grown up with. When the first episode screened I was 15 years old and going through my “Rock Star” stage, it was a new and refreshing show which had everything a teenage boy could have wanted:
Fast Cars
Hot Girls
Drugs
and one liners and witty banter to keep you interested in the script
I feel sad in knowing that this show wont be around for ever and with the way that they are developing the characters so far it feels as though this season may be the last.
The characters are still convincing in their roles but the scripts, especially the dialogue feels as though its lacking in the punch that the first seasons had.
Tonight we were introducedto Ashleigh played by Alexis Dziena, Eric assures sSloanthat she is 24, but this woman has the voice and body of a 12 year old girl, making Kevin Connoly’s character come across slightly creepy, he gives Drama shit about being old enough to be her grandfather, well E, does that make you old enough to be her father?
I’m sure with the vast pool of Actresses at their disposal they could have chosen someone a lot more suited for the role.
Wow Jerry Ferrara is looking great as Turtle his Girlfriend Jamie-Lynn Sigler
(who plays herself in this show) must have had him hitting the gym between seasons, I’m sure he has lost a couple of pounds. His musings on Knocked up and Seth Rogan had me amused, the same thoughts have crossed my mind after watching the movie.
Autumn Reeser who is best known for playing Taylor Townsend on the O.C was also introduced in tonights show, a welcome distraction for Miller Gold employee Andrew Klein who I was sure after last weeks performance was going to admit he was in love with Ari.
The thing that I have always loved about Entourage is its sense of scope and in one of the final scenes tonight it had the gang walking the Red Carpet towards Grauman’s Chinese Theatre for the premiere of Vince’s new movie directed by Martin Scorsese.  The scene was huge and filled with extras.
It saved what would have otherwise been a pretty average episode.
What did you think of tonights episode? Feel free to leave a comment :)
